1/8 oz dry vermouth
1 3/4 oz Scotch
1/4 - 1/2 oz grenadine
First grab either a cocktail glass or a 3 oz bucket and chill it. After it is chilled, pour 1/8oz of Dry Vermouth swirl it, and then dump it and let it sit for about 10 seconds. Then fill with crushed ice.
In your mixing tin place a scoop of ice and 1 3/4 oz scotch. Be quick to stir once and strain over crushed ice so the scotch doesn't bruise. Then hard pour 1/4 - 1/2 oz grenadine in the top.
I don't give a garnish when making this drink. The grenadine makes for plenty of cherry, and a Lemon didn't taste right.
This is my perfered way of making a Rob Roy. As you drink this drink the first sip is really strong, but as the crushed ice melts and you get towards the bottom, it gets sweeter and more like a dessert than a Manhattan.
