Mai Tai (Trader Vics Style)

1.5oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

1/2oz orange curaçao

1/4oz Simple Syrup (or Rock Candy Syrup)

1/4oz Orgeat

1oz jamaican rum

1oz dark rum

- mix & shake ingredients - pour into double old fashioned glass filled with crushed ice - garnish with mint sprig, pineapple slice and spent lime shell.

I usually use Havana Club Anjejo Reserva instead of Jamaican Rum and any premium dark rum (Trader Vics Brand if you can get it). I find a little more dark vs a little less Havana C increases the flavour. You may need to use a little less lime juice (1oz) too as fresh lime can be strong. **There's many variations of this drink but this is based on the original recipe from Trader Vics.
